I don’t know about where you live, but my house was until recently filled to the brim with perfectly usable stuff that for some reason did not attract my attention anymore. Well other than annoy me that it was taking up space. I mentioned this to a colleague of mine and he told me about this yahoo group he was a member of where you could give away your stuff to other people who would need what you had to give away. It’s free recycling, or freecycling and the best part is that all these products change hands for free.

You can even ask for stuff you need,  like if you’re doing a DIY project and run out of laminate flooring – Just ask.

A week after I registered most of the stuff that I wanted to get rid of has gone. And best of all I have helped keep stuff out of the landfill.  And that just feels good. In return for my hard work my son and I can now play Monopoly, pictionary and Trivial Pursuit with the games that I was given from other freecyclers.
